2016-07-21

Midea entered the Global Fortune 500 for the first time on July 20. The Group ranked 481st in its first appearance on the annual ranking of the world’s largest corporations.

The past year has seen Midea land high-profile projects such as the air conditioning for the Rio Olympics and increase profit 21 percent year-on-year. This result follows on from entering the Forbes 500 in mid-2015, a list that Midea further climbed this year.

The world’s 500 largest companies generated US$27.6 trillion in revenues and US$1.5 trillion in profits in 2015. Together, this year’s Fortune Global 500 companies employ 67 million people worldwide and are represented by 33 countries.
